Spain
The majority of people associate Spain with the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol with Benidorm and Torremelinos; cheap package holidays to the concrete jungle that now scars much of the Spanish coastline. To experience and truly appreciate the real Spain in Andalucia, you need to travel inland, away from the coast. Here you will discover stunning, unspoilt scenery and many beautiful white villages (pueblos blancos). The Andalucian Cycling Experience, is set in one of these white villages, Montecorto, in the heart of the Sierra de Nieves just outside Ronda. It is surrounded by some of Spain 's most picturesque National Parks. Our aim is to provide you with a memorable week of fun and fitness whilst cycling through authentic Andalucia; taking in traditional Spain through the pueblos blancos, National Parks and other places of interest you will find here..
Spain is undoubtedly the sunniest and driest country in Europe. The best time of year to cycle in Andalucia is from April to October. Then you are more or less guaranteed blue skies and plenty of sun. However, it should be said that whilst July & August are extremely warm in Andalucia, cycling can still be enjoyed if you don't mind an early start to avoid the mid-afternoon heat. For those of you who don't mind taking your chances with some rain then the winter months of December to February can be extremely enjoyable. Temperatures are cooler and accompanied by sunshine and/or showers. November and March are generally our wettest months. For more information visit the Spain section of the BBC Weather site, or see the current 5 day forecasts for Malaga (Opens in a new browser window)
